At the start of this week i posted chapter 11 and that night i got 12 views alone. In the morning there were five more bringing the total up to 17! The is amazing for one day! Especially since i had updated in months, i thought it would only be a couple of views but i got so many so i wanted to thank you all. And since that there has been over twenty more pageviews. so thanks you so much!
Anyway, on with the backstories!
Hero’s Core
Character backgrounds
Raven/Cassie Roaden:
Age - 15 Cassie is a foster child/orphan as both her parents were killed
along with the rest of her family when she was nine. Riddler had come and
attacked them all at her birthday dinner and killed them all before her eyes.
Since then she has been moving around foster homes but no one wants her for
very long. Her name was also changed by the HHC to keep her safe from the
Riddler and any one else who might want to finish the job of killing off her
family. Her name was changed to Brooke Bell.
It was also a few days after her parents death that she met
Frostfire and became her sidekick/apprentice a few years later. Cassie has been
in a relationship with David who was supposedly dead after been ‘killed’ by
another villains. Her cousin Chelsea who had been away from the birthday fight
with Riddler had been kidnapped a few weeks after his death by someone who had
then told Cassie that he had just been the catcher and was told to deliver her
to another location to be collected. The guy never knew who was collecting her
from there. David had known about Cassie’s powers and had known she was a
superhero. He hadn’t ever known her real name though and had always called her
Brooke like everyone else.
Cassie was constantly moving around schools because she was
always moving foster homes. However, for
the last three years she has managed to stay in the one high school and made
friends with a girl named Aria. She has other friends as well, Emma, Meagan and
Sophie. And a group of guy friends, Tyler, Jayden and Shawn. Cassie is in year
nine this year.
Cassie also knows the secret identity of Scar. This is
because Scar, otherwise known as Harry, had been her friend since she was born.
Their families were extremely close and due to this Harry and Cassie grew up
together. Even after her parents death Harry and her were allowed to keep in
contact because of some unknown reason. Two years after her family was killed
off Harry’s parents were murdered, and he had no other family, so he was
adopted.
She has an interest in Apollo/Lachlan. When they meet after
fighting off a small group of criminals along with their mentors one night
outside a museum, (first chapter) they spend a lot of time together working out
details of the team that was being created for the protégée of some of the
heroes in the HHC. Cassie thinks about
Lachlan a lot and when she has nightmares she will usually see him die along
with the rest of her friends and family.
Her powers are fire and ice as well as great archery skills
and close combat with or without her dagger. She had been trained to use her
powers by Frostfire and in some ways are exceeding her mentors own power. She was trained by Omega in close combat and
archery whenever she hanged out with Harry/Scar or just wanted to train.
Apollo/Lachlan Theos:
Age-15 Lachlan lives with his mum, (Sluggrave City, in an old apartment
building near the roughest part of town) because his father is locked away in
prison for going up against the HHC four years ago. Him and his mother are
really close and tell each other everything. They trust each other completely. His
cousins and brother and sister all are villains and want him to join them.
Whenever Lachlan has to go up against anyone in his family
he sometimes loses his control and ends up having to be stopped by Lumos. He
tries really hard to maintain his control and practices by meditating everyday
for half an hour before going to sleep at night and before training.
Lachlan goes to school at Sluggrave North High School. He is
in year nine and has a small group of friends. His friends are Gordan, Kellie, James
and Taylor. The five of them are often in trouble for talking in class and
mucking around in the courtyards. He is one of the top students in math and history,
specializing in Greek and Roman history.
When Lachlan was 11, he became a superhero by getting into a
fight with some guys one night on his way home but got into a bit of trouble
and couldn’t get out. That's when his mentor Lumos saw him and helped him by
training him to defend himself and then allowed him to become his sidekick. At first Lumos had wanted him just to train
because he was so young and didn’t think it would be a good idea for such a
young hero to be out at night in a place like Sluggrave city. But after a while
he gave in because he saw just how hard Lachlan worked and how strong he truly
was. It was around then that Lachlan choose the name Apollo. He choose it
mainly because his family all choose their hero/villain name from the Greek
gods, but also because part of his powers is to draw strength from the sun.
His powers are increased strength (due to drawing his power
from the sun, however he still has increased strength at night) and he can
fight well with a sword or in normal combat. He prefers his sword though.
His interest is Cassie but also Becca. He finds Becca to be
hot and nice to look at but he adores Cassie because of how much she cares for
people. He can’t stop thinking about her half the time, and the other half of
the time he tends to be around her, whether fighting bad guys or just mucking
around in the base.
Whitenoise/Becca
Grange: Age-18 Becca is a rich kid. She always got what she wanted. Except
for attention. When she found out she had powers she would sneak out at night
to go and kick bad guys ass’s to try and gain attention from somewhere other
than where others wouldn’t give. She became a hero due to this but as she was
younger and inexperienced, so the heroes in the HHC wouldn’t let her on their
team. So she asked to join the other one. She enjoys the company on the younger
team better anyway. She is seen as a
leader of this team because she is one of the oldest and most experienced. She
mainly relies on Scar and Raven to lead though because she doesn’t always act
with thinking things through properly, so she is often seen as a bit of a hot
head.
Becca has an older sister who is never around because she
lives in another state and can’t get away from her work. Her sister had tried
very hard to get through life without being known as a Grange because she had
many arguments with their father over his business. And Becca respects her
because of this. Though Becca still holds a grudge against her sister because
she didn’t take her with her. They had a younger brother but died when he was a
baby. This drove a wedge between their parents, so they would often fight.
Becca goes to school at Crystost high school, which is for
the richer people in Crystost. It is also a boarding school and one of her best
friends there is a boarder. Her friends at the school are, Caitlin, Courtney, Jane,
Harry (she doesn’t know he is Scar), Dylan and Dominic. She is in her second last year at school
because she was held back the year before because she failed two of her exams.
Becca’s power is to create a white noise by screaming and
she has also got the ability to fly. She is a great teacher for close combat
and helps train the team. She is the one who set up the training rooms and
designed all of the training programs for the team as well as the obstacle
course that tests, strength, agility and stealth.
She has an interest on Lachlan but a stronger one on Knight/Cobey
but just doesn’t know it because she finds him annoying and strange and is
constantly arguing with him.
Knight/Cobey Haltmen:
Age - 18 Cobey became a hero after finding he had inherited his father’s
super strength and then began training with him from a young age. Cobey chose
the name Knight because his father is He’s a bit of a flirt with Clockwire even
though he’s two years older then her. He treats everyone with respect apart
from Becca because he finds her annoying even though he has a crush on her but
doesn’t know it.
Knight has never really had any family issues because his
family is so tight knit. He had never noticed just how lucky he was about that
until he joined the team. When he hangs out with Lachlan, he feels as though
he’s the brother he’s never had. They grow to have a brotherly bond and come to
rely on each other.
Scar/ Harry Cain:
Age- 13 Parents died like Cassie’s. Harry has known Cassie since he was
born and had been close with her family before they we’re all killed. A few
months after that his parents were in a plane crash and had died. He was then
adopted by Omega- otherwise known and Dean Carrile- and has lived with him ever
since. Dean and Harry are really close because they have been together since
Harry was little. Harry doesn’t have a mother like figure in his life yet but
is very close with Frostfire, mainly because she is with Cassie a lot of the
time.
After his parents death Harry said he wanted to be like
Omega and the other hero’s of the HHC so Dean told Harry who he was and trained
him to be Scar. Harry doesn’t have any love interests at the moment. He is
great friends with Becca who he had also become close to after his parents
deaths as Dean and Becca’s dad did business together quite often. Cassie and
Becca consider him a little brother and he thinks of them as big sisters.
Clockwire/ Tahlia
Eclem – Age: 16 Tahlia has had a pretty sheltered life but has found that
she has been good at sciences. She knew about her science teacher’s (Coiler)
powers by accident, and one day when she was doing an extracurricular
experiment she needed supervision for, an explosion happened due to an accident
in the formula. The explosion had given her powers much like her mentors and
her science teacher/mentor had taught her how to control them much like he did.
Ever since that day she has been his apprentice and has been
helping him protect the city and world from villains.
Clockwire’s parents were always very closed minded about her
“activities” as they called it because the said the world already had enough
super heroes. Even so she goes against her parents will every night to go and
fight crime and go with the team on missions to help protect other countries
and people.
She doesn’t have any love interests currently. But is always
being hit on by Knight.
Lumos/ Ramon Staceil – Age: 32 Lumos comes from a long line of
heroes. His mum was the well-known hero ‘ Galaxy ‘ and his uncle who was known
as ‘Black Comet’. When Lumos was ten his uncle was killed in
battle so his mother quit the life due to her mourning. This made Lumos train hard so that one day he
would be strong enough to avenge his uncle’s death. When he was 19 he choose
the name Lumos and stepped into the crime fighting seen.
At the age of
While still being a somewhat middle-aged man, Ramon is still
fighting crime and is a part of the HHC. In fact, Ramon himself is one of the
most respected heroes of the heart core because he had recruited so many of
them there when they so obviously didn’t want to be a part of the team. His
powers included some control over the moon, meaning he can draw power from the
moon and turn it into strength. He is strongest at the full moon, and can still
draw power throughout the day.
Ramon’s normal life consists of him often working with kids
and teens in a therapist sort of way. He is a head of a social worker company
and does rounds to hospitals to help people with cancer work through it.
Lumos and Frostfire have a strong relationship that is
sometimes confused as a romantic sort relationship. He in fact is going out
with Gemma Nocturn, otherwise known as Stargazer. They have been a couple for
three years now and their anniversary is the 9/1.
