Enjoy <3

Hooded Island
Once upon a time in a little village far from the edge of America, off the coast, on a little island, there was a girl named Courtney. She had lived on this island since she was two. Her grandmother had died leaving Courtney and her mother all her land – which had been on the island - and possessions.
Her grandma also had left her a map and a blue hood. So far Courtney had no clue where the map started, but she had an idea of where it ended. Somewhere in the forest. She wanted to know what was important that had been left there.
So the next day Courtney asked her mum if she could go and find it.
“ Mum, can I go out to the forest? I think that's where grandma’s map leads into to,”
“ Ok, but sweetie be careful. I’ve heard bad things about that forest. Take the army knife with you just in case, ok?” Her mother replied voice filled with concern.
“ sure mum. See you later then,” Courtney said whilst picking up the knife from the bench and putting it in her back pocket. Courtney waved her last goodbye and walked out the door and down the lane.

Once Courtney reached the edge of the forest she felt like something was watching her. Quickly she looked around hand hovering over the knife in her pocket ready to fight.  But she saw nothing, so with a final breathe she entered the forest.
Darkness closed around her giving her a shaky feeling.
“ is someone there? Come out!” Courtney cried out. She turned in a circle, tears now stinging her eyes. She was known for her bravery but right now she had never felt so scared.

A bot jumped down from the tops of the trees a knife in his right hand. He ran forward to grab Courtney. But she was too quick. She drew her knife as she sidestepped the attack. Now back in her comfort zone and calmed down Courtney confronted the attacker.
“ What do you want?” holding the knife out to the front of her ready to strike if needed.
“ what I want is that map. Hand it over or else,” his voice was deep and dry. His eyes told her he was serious and willing to kill. That meant she had no choice.
Even if she could escape he would easily catch her.
He lunged at her his knife drawn back and point about to stab her in the gut. She had no choice. Courtney had to think and act fast.
“ I will get you Courtney,” he yelled it out. She now realised who it was. Her old friend Greg. He had gone missing many years ago as he had said to have gone crazy. He lunged once more.
Straight into Courtney’s knife. Greg died and Courtney survived. Life went back to normal, as though nothing ever happened.
It was over.

Hope you enjoyed that one. And now your second short story for the evening!

Set to Drop
It's a Tuesday morning and of course, when I wake up I hit my head on the bedside table. And then the overhead shelf. Again. It takes me a moment to adjust to where I am. Camp Frostline. Private rooms in the cabins so I don’t have anyone snoring in my ear. Although I’ve only been here for a few days, it still doesn’t really feel real. I arrived on Thursday last week. But it seems as though I’ve only been here for a day.
Don’t get me wrong, this camp is beautiful. The only problem is the camp’s reputation for being a place for troublesome teens. It’s not of course, otherwise, I wouldn’t be here. It's a camp for kids who are, special. Yes, special is the best way to describe us.  We’re not stupid if that's what your thinking. We can do things other people would otherwise not be able to do. Like breathe underwater or turn someone into a bird. Or themselves into birds. The best way to describe us is supernatural.
Anyway, I got up and got ready for breakfast. It was always different breakfast choices. A buffet would be the best way to describe it.  We eat in the pavilion and do most of activities around the camp. I watched some of the other campers playing basketball and cleaning the stables- yeah, we had horses here. I never said it was a poor camp just that it was different kids.
I entered the pavilion looking for an empty table for me to eat at. I still hadn’t found anyone to be friends with. Mainly because I have always been alone. I spotted a table in the middle of the room. Oh well, if it meant I could be alone it was better than nothing I thought.
Laid out on the table were fruits pancakes and waffles. This as well as the basic assorted cereals and milk.
I grabbed some of the fruit- strawberries, blueberries and an apple- and a couple of the waffles and started eating. It was about then that three of the other campers came and sat with me. Two boys and a girl. I’d seen them together before. Great, I thought.
“ Hey, your Della right?” this was the girl. Her hair was bouncy and shining in the light coming through the windows. She had one of those faces that seemed to be perfect far off and even better closer up. Bright blue eyes with perfect teeth and a bright smile. Dark chocolate brown hair though.
“ Yep, that's me,” I said trying to keep my head down trying to give them the hint that I liked being alone. Well, I guess liked is a bit strong. I was used to it.
“ Cool. I’m Kaley, and this Austin and Lucas. We’d be happy to show you around properly. We know the first tour you get is pretty short and doesn’t show much of what’s useful,” She pointed to each of the boys. Austin was on her left. He had hazel-greyish eyes and blonde slightly wavy hair.  He had one of those ‘ I’m tough but don’t look it ‘ bodies. His smile made me think of one of those school boys who would take your books and hide your stuff. But he seemed nice enough. Lucas however, was the exact opposite. His arms were buff, he had dark brown, almost black hair that was cut short and his eyes were a piercing green colour. I couldn’t stop looking at them. But I did.  The look he had on his face told me he was curious about me but wasn’t sure why. I know this feeling well.
“ nice to meet you. And yes it would be great if you could help me out by showing me around,” I was being honest but, somehow my gut didn’t believe I was.
“ cool, well as soon as we finish in here I’m sure we can take the day off to help you out,” Lucas said still looking at me. His eyes were searching for something. Weakness? I didn’t know.
“ ok then,” I replied to them all  looking at Lucas in the eyes. I almost slipped back into the trance he had put me in last time. Somehow though, it felt familiar to me. Almost as though I had seen them before. But that was silly.
We all ate breakfast together with Austin cracking jokes and us all laughing. Kaley had moved round to sit with me. Within half an hour we were all ready to go on the tour.
“ Hey kay, do you think we should take Della here to the special place?” Austin’s face had a slight glint of hope as well as sarcasm.
“Yeah we can take her but that means we need to go back to our cabins to get into our bathers though,” Kaley looked at me wanting to know if I was going to come with. I had never been asked to go somewhere special before like this.
“ sure. My cabins over that way though so can you meet me over there when your dressed?” I asked with a smile
“ Yeah, mines over there too, so I’ll come with you,” Lucas added on. I noticed that something in his eyes had sparked. Interesting.
AS we walked we said nothing. It was so awkward. So I started to talk but he cut me off.
“ I know you from before this camp,” well I wasn’t expecting that.
“ um, I don’t know how,” I now wanted to run into my cabin lock the door and never come out.
“ I lived next door to you for four years, before I moved and started to live with my grandmother,” he was telling the truth. I remembered now. We were both 5. He left just after his ninth birthday.
“ Wow, I had forgotten it was so long ago, well its good to see you again,” and I meant it. We were good friends back then. He had been the first friend I had ever had.
“ I guess this was like fate, you know destiny. If you believe in all that,” I didn’t but it was fun talking like that. We had stopped outside my cabin.
“ I should get changed,” I said as I opened the door. He nodded and kept walking down a little way. I entered the cabin and went to get into my bathers. I slipped my dress over the top and grabbed my beach towel.
Soon as I stepped outside I was facing Austin with his smirk still on his face.
“ Good timing ,” He said. I shook my head as I headed down the stairs to walk with him to Lucas’s cabin where Kaley had gone ahead to.
As we walked I noticed that he was always fiddling with something in his hands. When I asked what it was he explained that he had ADHD and was usually unaware of doing it.
“ What took you two so long? Went for takeout did you?” Kaley’s voice rang clear from up ahead.
“ Nah,” I replied as we walked up to them. Lucas was now wearing a pair of boardies and a singlet.
“ Come on lets go take her to the waterfall,” Lucas had caught me looking at him again and gave me a wink. He used to do this all the time when we were younger. So, in return I just shook my head and smiled.
Kaley started to run off into the edge of the forest at that moment. She was followed by Austin and Lucas who had grabbed my hand and was pulling me along. We had been running flat out for about three minutes when we stopped. It took me a while to take in all the beauty of the place. A glistening waterfall with a pool of crystal blue water beneath that looked deeper the closer you got to the edge near the waterfall. You could still see the bottom though because the water was that clear.
Everyone started to get ready to hop in when suddenly Austin and Lucas disappeared.
“ Kaley, where did the boys go?” it was then that they jump out from behind and grabbed me about to throw me in. I struggled against them whilst laughing with them.
“3,2,1!” SPLASH! The water was a lot warmer then what I had expected. I started to relax when all of a sudden the three of them jumped into the water and started splashing me.
We spent a couple of hour splashing around and having chicken fights. It was just after this that we hopped out and started playing a dare game. The rules were you had to do the dare or have to were the hat of shame all week. So of course we all did our dares. Well, only until it came round to my third turn.
“ Della Kart, I dare you to jump from the waterfall into the pool below,” Austin’s smile grew larger as he said it.
“Its safe we do it all the time. We could jump with you if you want?” Kaley supplied obviously seeing the nerves in my eyes. I didn’t want to seem scared but I had a fear of heights and I hated jumping from diving boards let alone waterfalls.
“Ok, But you three have to jump before I go,” I took a deep breath and started to get up. Lucas got up and grabbed my hand.
“ Sound fair” he said. Kaley and Austin nodded in agreement and showed me the path up to the top of the waterfall. It was a short path but it was a very tall waterfall.
“ Okay, just watch and wait for us to get to the other edge before you jump,” Austin said. He was showing a caring side that hadn’t been as obvious before.
“ok,” I watched as they jump in together. Kaley screaming with joy as she did. Fear started to creep into her throat.
“ Come on, Della, its fine, you’ll have fun,” Lucas called from below. I looked down and gave him a smile. I stepped back ready to jump.
3…2…1… Jump!

Updates- Character Backgrounds

Yeah so here's the updated version. Hope you like the characters backgrounds.I know some may not make sense with the story just yet but I will be fixing that so just hold tight for the moment.
Anyway, enjoy <3

Hero’s Core
Character backgrounds
Raven/Cassie: Age - 15 Cassie is a foster child/orphan as both her parents died two and a half years ago. Since then she has been moving around foster homes but no one wants her for very long. Her name was also changed by the HHC to keep her safe from the Riddler and any one else who might want to finish the job of killing off her family. Her name was changed to Brooke Bell.
It was also a few days after her parents death that she met Frostfire and became her sidekick/apprentice a few years later. Casse has been in a relationship with David who was supposedly dead after been ‘killed’ by another villains. Her cousin Chelsea who had been away from the birthday fight with Riddler had been kidnapped a few weeks after his death by someone who had then told Cassie that he had just been the catcher and was told to deliver her to another location to be collected. The guy never knew who was collecting her from there. David had known about Cassie’s powers and had known she was a superhero. He hadn’t ever known her real name though and had always called her Brooke like everyone else.
Cassie also knows the secret identity of Scar.
She has an interest in Apollo/Lachlan.
Her powers are fire and ice as well as great archery skills and close combat with or without her dagger.

Apollo/Lachlan: Age-15 Lachlan lives with his aunt and cousins as his parents couldn’t support him anymore and asked his aunt look after him until they could. He still see’s his parents but cannot live with them and feels negatively about them because they sent him away.  He stills checks in with his mum daily because she and his father were villains and worries about him being a hero. His cousins and brother and sister all are villains and want him to join them.
He became a superhero by getting into a fight with some guys one night on his way home but got into a bit of trouble and couldn’t get out. That's when his mentor Lumos saw him and helped him by training him to defend himself and then allowed him to become his sidekick.
His powers are slightly increased strength and he can fight well with a sword or in normal combat. He prefers his sword though. His interest is Cassie but also Becca.

Whitenoise/Becca: Age-18 Becca is a rich kid. She always got what she wanted. Except for attention. When she found out she had powers she would sneak out at night to go and kick bad guys ass’s to try and gain somewhere others wouldn’t give. She became a hero due to this but as she was younger and inexperienced the heroes wouldn’t let her on their team. So she asked to join the other one. She enjoys the company on the younger team better anyway.
Becca has an older sister who is never around because she lives in another state and can’t get away from her work. Her sister had tried very hard to get through life without being known as a Grange because she had many arguments with their father over his business. And Becca respects her because of this.
Becca’s power is to create a white noise by screaming and she has also got the ability to fly. She is a great teacher for close combat and helps train the team.
She has an interest on Lachlan but a stronger one on Knight but just doesn’t know it because she finds him annoying and strange and is constantly arguing with him.

Knight/Cobey: Age - 18 Cobey became a hero after finding he had inherited his father’s super strength and then began training with him from a young age. He’s a bit of a flirt with Clockwire even though he’s two years older then her. He treats everyone with respect apart from Becca because he finds her annoying even though he has a crush on her but doesn’t know it.
Knight has never really had any family issues because his family is so tight knit. He had never noticed just how lucky he was about that until he joined the team. When he hangs out with Lachlan, he feels as though he’s the brother he’s never had. They grow to have a brotherly bond and come to rely on each other.

Scar/ Harry: Age- 13 Parents died like Cassie’s. Harry has known Cassie since he was born and had been close with her family before they we’re all killed. A few months after that his parents were in a plane crash and had died. He was then adopted by Omega- otherwise known and Dean- and has lived with him ever since. Dean and Harry are really close because they have been together since Harry was little.
After his parents death Harry said he wanted to be like Omega and the other hero’s of the HHC so Dean told Harry who he was and trained him to be Scar. Harry doesn’t have any love interests at the moment. He is great friends with Becca who he had also become close to after his parents deaths as Dean and Becca’s dad did business together quite often. Cassie and Becca consider him a little brother and he thinks of them as big sisters.

Tahlia / Clockwire – Age: 16 Tahlia has had a pretty sheltered life but has found that she has been good at sciences. She knew about her science teachers powers by accident, and one day when she was doing an extracurricular experiment she needed supervision for, an explosion happened due to an accident in the formula. The explosion had given her powers much like her mentors and her science teacher/mentor had taught her how to control them much like he did.
Ever since that day she has been his apprentice and has been helping him protect the city and world from villains.
Clockwire’s parents were always very closed minded about her “activities” as they called it because the said the world already had enough super heroes. Even so she goes against her parents will every night to go and fight crime and go with the team on missions to help protect other countries and people.
She doesn’t have any love interests currently. But is always being hit on by Knight.

Poems!

I was going through some stuff on my computer tonight and I found a whole five pages of poems. Thought it would be a nice change from the short stories and chapters, so here's a little treat!
Keep in mind i wrote these all last year and haven't read any of them, they're probably a little dark too.
Enjoy <3

Clouded
Of all my scars, and all my cuts,
The ones you gave me make me nuts,
Truth be told, lies been said,
The ones that hurt the most are dead,
The storm clouds on my sunny day,
You’re the thunder that makes me run away,
The pain you gave me, take it back,
Told me you love me, I’ll hate you for that!
By Cee Morgan

They Lies
The puppet that sits on the strings,
The girl whose blind and sees everything,
The friends who lie like its true,
And yet their curse began because of you,
To trust in a world where freedom is wrong,
A twin is dead, a sister gone,
They’ll turn your words into twisted lies,
And leave you there out to dry,
You’ll hate them because of what they did,
But you’ll hate yourself more for letting them in!
By Cee Morgan

Hurting They
They lied to me, they lied to you,
They showed others what they could do,
They want you to know they’re not afraid,
Of going to the extent of leaving a stain,
The words on the wall mean nothing to others,
But to them and to you it’s a curse like no other,
To get from their reach, to break the pain,
There’s only one way but its an ugly shame,
Give them mercy but make it sweet,
It over, they’re gone, for now, sleep sweet!
By Cee Morgan

They Cycle
A mercy is given by those who were hurt,
From lies which are nothing but an twisted curse,
Truth be told and say it so sweet,
They killed your spirit in under a week,
Make them pay worse than you,
Hurting them bad is all you can do,
From all the pain that they gave you, give it back,
The cycle continues, They, is back and its YOU!
By Cee Morgan

Time is Pure Evil
A story of which is true in itself,
A hateful crime is all that is left,
A scar on the side of a poor girls face,
A shallow pool of glass is a waste,
Crying alone in house full of people,
The real world will wait as time is pure evil,
They’ll watch you cry but won’t help you calm,
They’ll show you again the pain from your past,
If you think it’ll end you sweetly mistaken,
This curse they gave you is never ungiven.
By Cee Morgan

Door of Choice
Your faced with a choice alone in an empty room,
A door, it tempts you with peace but also anger,
There’s no one with you, your all alone,
The choice will linger forever until the days are gone,
It’s a curse you can’t bare to be trapped in a room,
With no light, and no one to help,
You’ve called before but silence trapped you here,
You’ve learned to listen to the silence it’s become you friend,
But the voices you hear, they want you dead,
There’s nothing you could do, so you opened the door,
Dead silence again, cause they are no more.
By Cee Morgan

Tell Me a Story
Tell me a story, the little girl said,
It’s a wonder why now she’s dead,
Her sister came home that night, She had new friends,
Though they said we want to play with her instead,
They braided her hair with ribbons of gold,
And gave her a dress with a story of old,
They showed the sister in the other room,
A tear streaked face was enough to prove,
She was mad and ready to kill,
She grabbed the knife from beside her too,
She strides over to her sister and friends and said,
“ you look lovely dear sister” and thrust the knife,
through her sister’s chest. “ goodbye dear sister”
her friends were all shocked and they said
“ at least now she will be with them”
By Cee Morgan

In My Dreams
In My dreams I see the door,
Every time I’ll open it ,
Go through and see my friends inside,
They would say hello how was your day?
I know their not real but its such a shame,
They’re the only ones in this world,
That care at all about me for what I am,
Then my special friend Tyler, he comes to me,
And whispers in my ear “ do you miss me?”
And to that I will always answer the truth,
Of course I say, of course I do!
By Cee Morgan

Wolf-pack
A mercy is given by those who were hurt,
A howl at the moon, it’s a twisted curse,
They corner their prey in the empty night,
The wolves attack, it’s a one sided fight,
A mercy is given by those who were hurt,
A howl at the moon it’s a twisted curse.
By Cee Morgan and S.Beames

Dead Voices
Trapped in a room all alone,
Hiding in corners, nowhere to go,
Voices are saying we’re all going to die,
But if I’m going down, they’re end is Nye,
Cry me a river, this isn’t sad,
Grow a functional pair of ears,
This is a poem, not a prophecy my dear,
By Cee Morgan

Gypsy’s Dress
A girl in a gypsy’s dress,
Hiding in foreign bushes,
Watching suspects passing by,
Her mothers killer my my my,
A hand grabs her from behind,
Now a gypsy’s dress is all they’ll find.
By Cee Morgan

Em
A dream filled with dark grey smoke
A hour passes, the boy in the cloak,
The voices you hear are true,
So are all the times that they spoke to you,
An empty glass and blood red juice,
The time has come to leave again,
The choice you made, an inkless pen,
In search of hope you’ll rely on them,
The one you’ll trust, her name is Em.
By Cee Morgan

Mirror Mirror
Mirror mirror on the wall,
whose the biggest fool of all?
Must be the girl who can’t stop crying,
Or the girl who kept on trying.
By Anonymous

Half-blood
Things that run and things that fly,
Sunsets that go down in pink skies,
The oceans will rise with a lift of my hand,
And fires will burn by the time I stand,
A throne of silver and gold,
A bow and arrow with stories of old,
A knife is ones best weapon,
For a half-blood there is no heaven.
By Cee Morgan

For Told
A single whisper comes from afar,
A girl in hiding will raise the bar,
A prophecy will make them cry,
The prophecy says that she must die,
But her friends will rise against it,
They’ll go together to fight and win it,
A soul will be reaped there is no doubt,
Don’t be cocky, it true she’ll find it out.
By Cee Morgan

Fates
Back when we could on quests,
These days all we get are rests,
Seeing the same thing every day,
Fighting friends, trying to stay sane,
Heroes die at an endless rate,
But all of this is the works of the fates.
By Cee Morgan

Girl Alone
It’s a hopeless cause that we fight for,
And no ones caring unlike times before,
A quest to bring a girl back home,
For all these years she’s been fighting alone,
She won’t sleep at night until the night she’s gone
Her hearts true love will come, to save the dawn,
And at last he will come for her too,
For all we know this girl is you.
By Cee Morgan

Helpless
I sleep alone in an empty room,
An angry girl gives off the fumes,
She’ll wait for the day they come to her,
She wants to leave but knows she can’t,
Her captors say she’s family and she’s important,
But she’s worked it out she’s not even there to them,
She feels so helpless so alone,
She’s feels just like empty bones,
She feels so helpless and alone.
By Cee Morgan

Alone
She’s standing alone in a crowded room,
She just doesn’t know what to do,
Her family’s saying what they think is the truth,
But really it’s the opposite of the problems,
She’s feeling alone in this crowded room
That was until she met you.
By Cee Morgan
