I might write short stories every now and then just to mix things up. And of late i have ben posting more than once a week so i will try to keep that up for now.
Anyway, your here to read stories not read this drabble, so here you go!
Chapter Four
Our New Home
Raven
I woke up with my head spinning. I found that Apollo was
holding my hand and that just made me want to faint again. I didn’t though.
We talked for a bit but then I asked him to get the others
so I could talk to them. As a team. When
Apollo left I said a quiet “ thank you” to him. I don’t know why I did but it
just felt right. I suppose it was because he was there when I woke up and he
was looking after me since then. I remembered a bit before I collapsed. Why did he come to catch me? I thought
to myself as I waited for him to come back with the others. When I felt ready I
started to slowly get up from the bed and move to the other side of the room.
Frost was going to kill me for using so much ice on the
Riddler. Even she can’t produce that much without vomiting or getting dizzy.
And she was much more advanced in her power strength than me. I did
it to save the team, I thought. It was true though. If I hadn’t the team
would have been killed one by one.
I knew the Riddler and his twisted mind. I had met him at a
young age. But I would explain that when the others get here.
I realise I had been standing in the same spot for a few
minutes so I decided to walk down the hall to try and find the others. As I was
about half way down the hall I ran into Frost.
“ What are you doing out of that bed?!” frost ran over to my
side and grabbed me around the waist. But I pushed her off showing her that I
was fine. But I voiced my thoughts as well.
“ Frost, its okay I feel fine now, promise,” I added the
promise in because I could tell that she was really worried. I continued
further down the hall only to bump into the others.
“ Raven!” Clockwire came and practically jumped on me to
give me the biggest hug I had ever felt before. When she finally let go she saw
the cut along the side of my face. I had put my mask back on before I left the
room so part of it was still covered. “ What are you doing out here? Honestly!
And why the hell was that guy only wanting to fight you? Is he some nemesis of
yours or something?” she asked her words flying off the walls like bouncy
balls.
“ Something like that. And I’m fine honestly. I just want to
go and see this place, maybe even move into our new base?” I said with my
little smirk that Scar returned. He knew exactly what I was talking about where
as the others just looked at me like I was bonkers.
“Follow me guys. Your going to love the place!” I said
cheerfully. I led them into a room at the end of the hall off to the left. It
blended into the wall making it hard to see, and stopping the tourists from
finding it easily. It also had about eighty security systems. Super annoying
but hey it meant the place was safe from the baddies.
I pinned in my code and opened the door. As each of us it
scanned us and announced our entrance as well as our ID code. This was
different from the passcode to get into the room.
“ Whoa, what is that thing?” I heard Knight say off to my
left. I nodded my head towards Omega and
Lumos who were in here. Knight must have been looking at the zetaplate. It was
a large platform that used zeta beams to transport us to which ever other one
we wanted to go to. It was really cool. I had only ever had to use it once
before and that was yesterday when I used it to get to our base to make sure everything
was set up properly.
“ Zetaplate, it’s a teleportation device the Heart uses to
get from here to others around the world in the shortest amount of time
possible,” Scar said a matter of factly.
Omega turned to the young boy and gave him a pat on the back.
“Correct Scar. I take you are feeling better Raven?” he
asked without any emotion in his voice.
“ yes, thank you, I was just taking the team to the base.
Our base,” I added on the end so he wouldn’t be confused. He just nodded his
head and went to the computer to set up the coordinates for where we going to
travel to.
“ Alright everyone, onto the platform, time for you all to
see your base,” Lumos said to us all coming to give me a hug to say goodbye and
wish me luck. He did the same with Apollo and then turned to stand by Omega. As
the Zetaplate began to transport us I gave a quick little wave.
A few seconds later and we were standing in a different
room, still on a zetaplate. This was larger, almost like a warehouse feel with
a big door to the left. I jumped down off the plate while the computer was
still announcing all of our arrivals. Apollo and Scar jumped down on either
side of me just as I started to wobble.
“ I’m fine,” I said giving them both a quick little smile to
reassure them. Then I headed towards the door hoping that my friend would be
waiting on the other side ready to help give the tour of the Mountain Cave.
“ Come on slow pokes! Don’t you want to see your rooms?” I
asked as I opened the door.
“ Yeah, I mean we worked so hard on them. Honestly it would
be such a waste if you don’t even want to see them,” Came a females voice from
behind me as I had turned my back to the door. “ Miss me?” I turned around and
pounced on her wrapping her up in a huge hug.
“ Whitenoise!” I knew she was going to be there but I still
couldn’t help but pounce. She was my best friend. “ Guys, I’m sure some of you
have met Whitenoise here, if not well, we’ll catch up on that later,” I was
practically yelling this at them as we linked arms and headed into the kitchen
lounge area that was through the door.
“ Good to see you White. Did you hear what went down this
morning?” Scar said to her a he went to give her a good hearted hug.
“ Yes I did. Which brings me to my next point of interest,
Why in the world would you even give him the chance? You knew he was more than
likely going to turn up there today,” Whitenoise was yelling at me now. “ You’d
be a fool to think that he wouldn’t come at you the day the started up, you
know how much of a grudge he’s got on you since last time. And you’ve been on
the receiving end that many times now I thought that you would have been more
prepared,” By now the rest of the team had their mouths open staring at the way
she was yelling at me and what it was about..
“ Your right I should have known and been prepared but I
wasn’t okay? I thought they still had him under lock and key, I didn’t know he
had gotten out again,” I retorted to her. My voice the same tone filled with as
much anger as guilt as hers. White had wanted to be there today but couldn’t
make it because she had to deal with some things in her side of town. Something
to do with Hydro or something. Anyway, she came straight here afterwards and
was waiting for us. And she had heard what had happened. Great, now she’s never going to let up on the fact that we shouldn’t
have made it public, I thought to myself. White had told me that by making
it public that anyone who had a grudge against any of us would come out to get
us before we could get together as a proper team.
It almost worked I guess.
“ sorry, your like my little sister. I just didn’t want you
to get hurt,” She reached out to the cut along my throat. “ But you did anyway.
It was bound to happen,”
I reached out and hugged her and whispered in her ear that I
was okay and she didn’t need to worry about me. When we let go she had brought
her bright smile back to her face.
“ I guess we should get this tour underway,” White said
grabbing Scar in a hug.
“ Yes, I suppose we should. Follow us guys,” I said bringing
back the brightness to my voice.
Apollo
Wow, this is pretty
awesome, I thought soon as we entered the living room. I also noticed how
close Whitenoise and Raven and Scar were, almost a mini family. I had to admit
though, White was pretty hot. I mean just the way she dressed told me that she
wasn’t going to take no for answer from anyone. She wore ripped denim shorts
with ripped tights and combat boots. She had a half cut purple leather jacket
on over the top of a black low cut singlet. She had hooped earrings in too. Her
red hair with blonde tips stood out but made the look complete. No mask, I noticed. Hot was definitely the word to describe her.
Maybe badass but from the way she treated Scar and Raven she cared about people
too. She must do to be in this business.
Raven and White were laughing at an inside joke by the looks
of things as they led us into the kitchen. “ Well this is the kitchen, the HHC restock it
every Monday so don’t worry too much about food. For those of us who will be staying
here permanently there are cooking tools and plates and cutlery so we don’t
need to get any of those things either. There’s a table just behind the wall there so
you can eat in there too,” Raven said pointing out places and opening cupboards
and doors to show us where things were.
“ Come on hurry it up Rave, they need to see their rooms!”
Whitenoise said to Raven, who’s nick name to her is apparently Rave? There’s
something new.
“ Fine, by the way the TV has over 100 channels so there’s
always something on and you can rent movies on it as well. Its also hooked up
to a PlayStation and Xbox and a Wii. And
there are games in the draws under the TV,” Raven added before turning to walk
into the lounge room again and heading towards a corridor off to the right.
“ Guys room are on the right and girls are on the left.
First stop, Knight’s room, across from him is Clockwire. You two can check out
your rooms if you want. All the rooms have there own bathrooms. Next to them is
Apollo and across from him is my room,” Whitenoise pointed out. Clockwire and
Knight had gone into their rooms. I heard a couple of gasps. When I went into
my room I could see why. The beds were fitted with expensive sheets and built
in bookshelves as well as a desk for work and a wardrobe for any clothes I
wanted to leave there.
I walked out of my room to see that the group had moved a
little further down the hall towards a room with the sign saying “ Raven’s “
with a little raven underneath. Cute, I
thought. She opened her door and showed Clockwire her room. I had a quick peek
inside as well as the other boys. It was pretty cool. She had her room
completely set up. I realised a second after that she was one of the ones
permanently living here. Her parents were dead and she’d been bouncing around
foster homes for years. Can’t blame her for wanting to stay her permanently. As
the girls exited the rooms we came up to the door across from hers which had
Scar written on a sign. I noticed then that each of the rooms had security
systems attached to them. Some had more than others, like Scar’s and White’s. Odd, I thought. Scar didn’t go into to
his room. Didn’t even open the door. At
the end of the hall were more bedrooms which were there for if we got more
members. But then at the very end there was a big door.
“ And finally we have the training facilities,” White said
opening the door with her passcode.
Inside there was
about a million different things as well as more doors that lead to more
training rooms. There was a large sparring mat which looked to be electronic
and have a scoring system. I heard Knight breath out a ‘cool’.
“ Yeah well I’m sure you’ll want to explore some more later.
There a hanger which is off to the left of the Zetaplate room. It has
motorbikes and cars in there for us to use as well as a jet which Raven, Scar
and I have been trained to drive. Anyway how about we go into the kitchen and
get to know each other a bit better?” Raven said walking out of the training
area and back down the hall towards the kitchen.
Wow that was a long chapter. i tend to print these off after i write them too, so just in case you were wondering that was four pages of work!
